VTTrader 2.0

Beitragvon WorldTra.de » 29.10.2008, 15:05

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

* 2.0+ gigabytes of RAM
* 200+ megabytes of free hard disk space
* Internet Explorer 6.0 (or higher)
* Monitor that supports 1024x768 with a color depth of 32 bits (16,777,216 colors) or higher resolution
* A high-speed (broadband) Internet connection such as DSL or a cable modem is vital for online currency trading

NEW FEATURES

* Completely new Graphical User Interface (G.U.I.) which includes window docking functionality, GUI skins, a VT Trader Start Button menu, Microsoft Office-style Fluent UI Ribbon, and a Quick Access Toolbar for navigation, a new splash screen, a new default desktop template, newly designed chart labels, new color palettes and properties settings, and several new trading-related windows and features (such as Trader’s Guardian). With these new features, it was necessary to also update the minimum and recommended PC hard ware requirements for VT Trader 2.0. Please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Streaming incoming price quotes now uses “push” messaging technology; this means that VT Trader no longer requests price updates at pre-defined time intervals, but instead the broker’s quotes service broadcasts (pushes) new price quotes to VT Trader as soon as they’re received; you’ll notice more frequent, faster incoming streaming price quotes updates using this new messaging technology

* Quotes Board window added; please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Margin Utilization Level(s) window added; please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Currency Portfolio window added; please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Dow Jones News window added; Reuters News window has been removed. Please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Brokers Announcements window added; please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Ellipse drawing tool added; please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Rectangle drawing tool added; please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Triangle drawing tool added; please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Position labels and Order labels (including stop/limit labels) have been redesigned. These new labels have 3 “stages” of information. Initially, these labels are displayed in “stage 1” (minimal information). Clicking a label once with the left mouse button will switch the label to “stage 2” (medium level of information), and clicking it again while in “stage 2” will switch the label to “stage 3” (maximum level of information). From “stage 3”, clicking the label again returns it to “stage 1”. Each label mode (position, summary, consolidated) has been redesigned and all labels and their modes have detailed hint windows that display when the cursor is hovered over the label.

* Suggested Stop Rate feature added; it can be set up using the Options window and its value will be shown in the market order and entry order windows. Please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Broker communication tools added; You can chat in real-time with your broker’s dealing desk, sales department, and technical support department using commands found in the Ribbon>Help menu. Please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Data Folder command added; You can open a new instance of Windows Explorer to display VT Trader’s corresponding data folder which contains all of VT Trader’s and your custom files (log files, desktops, custom indicators, custom trading systems, preferences, etc.) using the Ribbon>Help menu. Please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Online Webinars command added; you can now access online webinars (live and archived/recorded) hosted by CMS FX using the Ribbon>Help menu. Please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* “Trading Mode” (formerly known as “1-Click Orders”) functionality has been extended to include the Advanced Rates window and the Chart window’s Quote Panel (when it’s displayed)

* “Portable” installation type for VT Trader now available; please refer to the “How to Install VT Trader…” section of the help manual for additional details

* Advanced Rates window (formerly known as Dealing Rates – Advanced) has an “Instruments” tab added to its properties window; please refer to the help manual for additional details

* “Auto-Size Y-Axis Min/Max Bounds” option added to Chart Properties>Rulers tab; this option allows you to choose between “Price” or “All Data” when applying the auto-size y-axis property (enabled by default) to your chart window. Selecting “Price” auto-sizes the chart vertically based only on price data; indicators attached to the chart will not be considered in the auto-sizing logic. Selecting “All Data” is how auto-size vertically worked by default in pre-2.0 VT Trader builds. All data, including attached indicators, are considering when auto-sizing vertically a chart window.

* “Size Column to Fit” and “Size All Columns To Fit” options have been added to the column caption contextual menus for the following windows: Accounts Information, Open Positions, Closed Positions, Pending Orders, Instruments Exposure, Trading Activity, Broker Announcements, Dow Jones News, Chart Patterns, Data Inspection, and Advanced Rates; Note: for all windows that have these new options, their normal contextual menus have had the “Adjust Column Width” option removed

* “Trading Disabled” status can now be applied by the broker to a client login name with the role of “trader” for the account; if an account is in “Trading Disabled” status, the client can login to VT Trader and use its resources, but he/she cannot perform any trading-related activities

* eventcount() function, its syntax, and its descriptive text added to the Paste Functions window

* AroonUp() function, its syntax, and its descriptive text added to the Paste Functions window

* AroonDown() function, its syntax, and its descriptive text added to the Paste Functions window

IMPROVEMENTS

* 1-Click Orders mode has been changed and is now called the “Trading Mode”. It can be set up using the Options window. Please refer to the help manual for additional details.

* Using “Export Environment” -> Desktops option now exports not only your ‘custom’ desktop workspaces, but also the ‘default’ desktop workspace as well; we made this change since many clients simply make changes to the default desktop workspace without creating one or more (additional) custom workspaces

* Dealing Rates>Rates Bookmark in pre-2.0 VT Trader builds has been removed

* Navigator Window>Options bookmark is now a “stand alone” Options window

* Chart window’s “old style” quote panel has been updated with a new look-and-feel; the “Trading Mode” (formerly known as “1-Click Orders” functionality is now available from the quotes panel in the chart window when it’s displayed

* Data Inspection window (formerly known as Chart Inspection window) -> D/T/P row has been separated into 3 rows: Date, Time, and Price

* DDE.xls is now available “on demand” vs. being “always on” via a new “Enable DDE” option in Options>General Properties; in order to use DDE.xls you must enable this option, exit VT Trader, login to VT Trader and while leaving VT Trader open, run the DDE.xls file

* Chart Inspection window renamed to Data Inspection window

* Chart Inspection window “Always on Top” option has been removed since it has no purpose in new docking GUI

* Summary by Accounts window renamed to Instruments Exposure window

* Summary by Accounts window -> Lots (total), Lots (Hedged), Lots (Non-Hedged), P/L columns renamed to Lots (T), Lots (H), Lots (NH), and Pips P/L respectively

* Summary by Accounts window -> Total row now totals the Lots (Hedged) and Lots (Non-Hedged) columns

* Summary by Accounts window -> Lots (Hedged) and Lots (Non-Hedged) columns display 0.0 if there are no positions fitting into those columns instead of remaining blank

* Options>Properties>General>General Properties>General Bookmark>Bring Activity Log to Front on Incoming Message option has been removed

* Error message dialog windows for indicators and trading systems using the error() function have been updated

* Active Price Alerts Summary window improvements -> it is now a “normal window” that can be sized and positioned within a desktop workspace (and opening it does not restrict access to other windows), its column captions are now left-aligned, and its column sizing behavior has been improved; also, the [Edit] and [Delete] buttons are only active when an alert is selected

* Price Alert dialog window’s message format has been improved to increase readability
* SignalFlag() function has been optimized for better performance

* SignalRemove() function has been optimized for better performance

* AroonUp() function has been changed; “data array” parameter is now optional; please refer to help manual for details

* AroonDown() function has been changed; “data array” parameter is now optional; please refer to help manual for details

* BBandTop() function has been changed; “periods” parameter is <0> Brightness option doesn’t work – FIXED

* Indicators and trading systems can be added to Renko and P&F charts, but they are not supported on those chart types and create empty frames (they should not be able to be added) – FIXED

* Cross Hair labels disappear under certain circumstances – FIXED

* Cross Hair lines do not appear in correct position after activating contextual menu, then moving the cursor, and immediately activating its “measuring” function – FIXED

* Character validation is not performed when client attempts to change password and uses invalid characters which can lead to inability to connect to VT Trader’s services – FIXED

* Character validation is broken in Pips P/L and Currency P/L text fields in the entry order placement window – FIXED

* Proxy Password text fields in Options>Servers>Demo/Live Trading windows used plain text instead of password protected (***) text – FIXED

* Customize Chart Toolbar window sometimes sizes incorrectly and Close button is not user-friendly (window is now not resizable and Close button replaced with OK/Cancel buttons) – FIXED

* There were several appearance bugs in Russian localization – FIXED

* Slovenian localization has incorrect text in contextual menus for entry orders - FIXED

* Auto-Size Vertically (now Auto-Size Y-Axis) icon does not show as “depressed” (active) when “Reset Scales” (now Reset Axes) option is used – FIXED.

KNOWN ISSUES

* VT Trader 2.0 "child" windows get stuck behind their "parent" window if you switch applications with one of them open and then try returning to VT Trader as the active application. You can use CTRL+ALT+TAB key combination to bring up the Windows "window selection" to reselect VT Trader. This should restore the "child" window to the front of VT Trader's "parent" window so you can continue your work.

* Reconnection balloon does not appear while VT Trader is in passive reconnection mode under Windows Vista (64-bit) OS

* Connection timeout issues and LED disconnection notifications are handled differently while using Windows XP (32-bit) vs. Windows Vista (64-bit) OS; Windows XP detects timeout issues and sends VT Trader to passive reconnection mode much sooner than Windows Vista (64-bit); it could take several minutes under Windows Vista (64-bit) before connection timeout issues send VT Trader to passive reconnection mode while it should only take ~1 minute while using Windows XP

* Quick Access Toolbar does not save its position after exiting and restarting VT Trader

* The Ribbon does not save its visible state (minimized/full view) after exiting and restarting VT Trader

* Chart window toolbars do not save their changes after exiting and restarting VT Trader

* The quote panel in the chart window does not save its previous position if it’s opened, then closed, then re-opened

* There is no Equity bar in the Margin Use Levels window; however, it's still listed in the Properties window -> Show/Hide group. A Used Margin and Usable Margin bar are included in the Margin Use Levels window and those 2 options are not included in the Properties window -> Show/Hide group.

* Currency Portfolio window does not display correctly when there are no open positions to be shown in the window

* Switch Windows and Close All Windows commands in Ribbon do not work after importing a custom desktop

* Some Ribbon icons do not have "hints" (Skin, Language, Reports, Closed Positions, Chart Patterns, Recently Viewed, Selection Tool, Lines, Channels, Shapes, Fibonacci, Gann)

Re: VTTrader 2.0

Beitragvon indochris » 03.11.2008, 19:37

Hallo Indo,
